We have strong hopes and fears about the outcomes of this Election Day. And in the midst of our anticipation and trepidation, we try to remind ourselves that this too is one part of our lives; one part of our work and practice as a congregation, as the children remind us, of open minds, helping hands, and loving hearts.
We know we are going to feel real and important feelings in the days to follow—elation, relief, disappointment—emotions that reflect deeply held commitments and values for life and justice. Let’s gather in the sanctuary of each other and of this place to re-orient our lives and move forward in the sharing and ongoing work, practice and voice of a congregation where love welcomes all and hope is real.
