Sally Vice serves on our Membership Committee and Welcome Team, where her kindly spirit helps newcomers and long-time members build a sense of belonging within UUFH. She is among the volunteers who greet attendees at Sunday morning services and, as such, is often one of the first faces welcoming visitors to UUFH. Once you meet this lovely lady, you’ll always remember her bright eyes, amazing energy, and big heart.
With the Membership Committee, Sally helps organize events aimed at deepening the connections that our friends and members can find with each other and the Fellowship. She identifies newcomers and sends welcome e-mails and information to them. She also plans and helps host semi-annual welcome gatherings for new members.
A lifelong UU, Sally moved here from Maryland with her husband John in 1997. Soon she agreed to chair a UUFH Neighborhood Group (the Village People in Flat Rock), which she hosted for 15 years. These wonderful groups nurture connections among smaller groups of UUFH friends and members who live near each other.
As leader of the Memorial Services Team for many years (and a former registered nurse), she has quietly helped provide church support for bereaved families, including gatherings of friends with the family after funeral/memorial services.
If you’d be interested in participating in any of these efforts, please speak with Sally for more information.
