We live in Hendersonville with our rescue dogs, Brady and Lucy. After 18 years of marriage, we are so grateful for the gift of a blended family: four adult children living across the U.S. from San Francisco to Michigan, Illinois, and Asheville. We have eight grandchildren ages 16 years to 15 months. We are retired from our careers as a social worker (Russ) and a health care administrator and nurse (Betsy).
Since retirement in 2016, Betsy has become a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor, teaching in Asheville and Hendersonville. We share a spiritual journey that began at a Thomas Moore retreat in Michigan many years ago. Sabbath for us can be any day we spend connecting with God, nature, and spirit through meditation, yoga, hiking, and projects of the hearth and hospitality.
We like to hear people’s stories about the places they have journeyed (geographically and metaphorically). We are bridge builders – past to future, people to people, and organization to organization. In good weather Russ can be seen cruising on his Harley. Betsy might be riding on the back or, more likely, puttering in her garden.
