On July 27th, eight UUFH members and friends set out on an annual trek to Cashiers, to the Mother of all Consignment Stores, Victoria’s Closet. We carpooled from Laurel Park Plaza, and by 10:30 we were busily exploring the multi-levels (and several buildings) of this fabulous place, with many good finds at unbelievable prices.
Our thrift store jaunts are open to any and all who wish to join us. The next one, in the winter, will include Hendersonville and surrounding areas. No date set as yet; watch for our announcements.
We are dedicated to recycling, repurposing, and reusing clothing, jewelry, and household items instead of always buying new! There are amazing treasures to be found for the intrepid and diligent shopper. Two rules: for every item you bring into your closet/home, you must donate or consign an item! That way, we are living what we believe and not just acquiring more ‘stuff’! The second rule is to HAVE FUN!
We combine our jaunts with a nice lunch out. Please consider joining us, or suggesting places for us to go, or even leading the next one! We could easily do this more often if people have the desire for it. Call if you have ideas or questions: Barbara Eck, organizer or email the office.
