As fellow stewards of our congregation and the community beyond our doors, we UUs welcome the many opportunities we have to share our time, talents, and treasures for the greater good. These gifts return to us many times over through the love and support we receive from one another as members of a caring community. As Wikstrom says in his book, Serving with Grace, “work devoted to something greater than yourself lifts you out of the narrow sphere of individual concerns, enlarges your perspective, and provides context for the joys and concerns of your own life.”
We gather in covenant to:
Celebrate life in all its joy and mystery,
Inspire journeys of truth and meaning,
Engage in practice and service for love, justice, and peace.
When we gather in covenant, your very presence is a gift. Thank you for the many ways you engage in practice and service. In whatever way we practice, in whatever way we serve, we receive the gift of belonging and connection. Our engagement becomes a spiritual practice. We learn patience and compassion. We learn to listen. We practice loving kindness. Together we enrich our lives and the lives of all who come through our doors.
Thank you for all the gifts you give. As beloved community, we are all in this wonder-filled spiritual journey together.
