Sunday, February 14th will be our Outreach Sunday dedicated to the Syrian refugee crisis. Over four million men, women, and children fled the civil war and barbarism of ISIS in Syria; another 7.6 million have been displaced within Syria. The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee is working with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to resettle these people in need. The UUSC also is working through its “Our Rights at Risk Program” to ensure that the basic human rights of displaced people are protected. Please join us in supporting the UUSC’s work to ensure the worth and dignity of each Syrian refugee.
Also, if you missed the service on February 7th, you can listen to it now. Charlotte Self shared her experiences with the congregation — from helping refugees during the Nazi era in Germany to becoming one after the war.
