UUFH Pledge Drive
On Sunday, March 6, our Annual Pledge Drive begins. All members and friends will be sent a pledge card and asked to complete and return it with your commitment of financial support for the coming year. If you are new to the Fellowship, please check with any member of the Pledge Team, or with me, to see how you can be part of this important effort.
Parents Night Out
Saturday, March 12
What do parents need after a long winter? How about a night out while their children are being
well cared for and entertained? Vicki Power and other members of the Pledge Team will be
hosting a Parents’ Night Out. More details to follow, but it will be an evening of games, pizza,
and pjs. Mark your calendars!
Multigenerational Potluck
Friday, March 18, 6 pm, Fellowship Hall
For our monthly potluck we will gather in Fellowship Hall at 6:00pm for appetizers and conversation; dinner at 6:30. Please bring a dish to share and your own place settings. (We are a Green Congregation and we don’t want to throw away disposable dishes or run the dishwasher if we can avoid it.) This is a great way for our families to get to know other members of our congregation in a social setting. We hope you can join us!
Youth Field Trip for Youth Grades 4-12
Sunday, March 20
Our March Youth field trip will be to the Quaker Meeting House in Brevard. We will meet at the Fellowship and ride to Brevard together. Over the last few months we have given our youth the opportunity to experience different kinds of worship. The Quaker faith has a lot in common with Unitarian Universalism in terms of tolerance, peace, and justice, although their style of worship is quite different. Quakers believe that if you want to hear what God has to say; you need to listen, thus they spend a lot of time in quiet prayer. This should be a very interesting experience for our youth.
Easter Breakfast
March 27, Easter Sunday – Before the Worship Service
We will once again host our annual Easter Sunday Breakfast. Each of the families of our RE Program will be asked to bring either quiche, muffins, or fruit.; and we’ll set up tables and decorate Fellowship Hall the afternoon before. This event is a fundraiser for our RE Activities Fund, so let’s all work together to provide a delicious breakfast for all and, at the same time, raise money to support our program.
Flower Ceremony
March 27, Easter Sunday
Also on Easter Sunday we’ll celebrate another UUFH tradition, the Flower Ceremony. We ask that everyone bring a flower to the Worship Service that morning. We will put them all together, and at the end of the service, we each take home a flower brought to the service by another. This ritual symbolizes our willingness to gather together of our own free will. Please join us for this springtime celebration.
