The theme for November is ancestry. Well, that can mean many things to many people. I am focusing on our common human ancestry. After all, we all come from a common source; we just call it by different names. Many times, “words” get in the way when we attempt to communicate with one another, and yet words are really all we have.
Unitarianism Universalism as an open, creedless faith, whose tradition of concern and social responsibility can play an increasingly important part in building community and in celebrating unity in diversity. We can be prophets who use our words and deeds, creating a vision and imagery that people can understand while telling the human story, partaking in the human dream in ways that will touch the human spirit. With this being said, as human beings, language plays a tremendous part in how we communicate and miscommunicate with each other.
