As Unitarian Universalists we are invited, encouraged, and challenged to build or rebuild our lives based on our First Principle, “the inherent worth and dignity of every person.” We covenant to affirm and promote this principle, yet its real effectiveness has to begin with each of us. This principle represents a radical turn from the dogma of the Fall and what is commonly known, in its most extreme form, as Calvinism (the total depravity of human nature). We will explore this principle as a way in the process of restructuring ourselves.

Rev. Mills began his ministry in the United Methodist Church, and was ordained to the UU ministry in 2007. He has served as minister of the Unitarian Universalists of Transylvania County since 2002, prior to which he was Chaplain and Instructor at Brevard College.
