As humans, we have been described as the “promise-making, promise-keeping, promise-breaking, promise- renewing creature.” Throughout the ups and downs of daily life, we live an ongoing dialogue of promises and promising. The flowing, never ending nature of this conversation means that to live out who we are and be who we hope to be, we must try to do what we say, strive to be who we intend, and then we must be able to forgive ourselves repeatedly, in order to renew the promises and “begin again (over and over again) in love.” The Jewish observance of Rosh Hashanah begins the last week of September. What forgiveness calls to you so that you might renew the love and promise of your life? Fran McKendree is our guest musician.
