Palm Sunday challenges us to rise up from our hesitations and our fears and step into engaged life and action in body or in spirit. In “A Prayer for Courage,” Jo Carr and Imogene Sorley call it being crocus-minded. “Somebody has to stick her neck out, somebody who cares enough to think through and work through hard ground.”
“It takes courage,” they say, “to be crocus-minded.” Not just in the warmth of spring, but in our everyday. On Saturday, March 24, there were March(es) for Our Lives to Protest Gun Violence. Let’s see what the day and our hearts bring, and what crocus-mind this Palm Sunday calls us to.
