Happy New Year! We hear this all of the time, but what does that salutation mean to you? To me it means we have another chance to think about the person we want to be, and to focus on the work we need to do to be that person. I am not sure New Year’s resolutions are all that helpful, but I do see this time of year as an opportunity to stop and reflect on what matters to us, what we want to do more of, and what we want to do less of. It’s not quite a “do over,” but it is a chance to move forward with intention. May your new year bring you new energy and a renewed sense of purpose!

Soul Matters Potluck and Conversation for Families
Friday, Jan. 5, 6pm,Fellowship Hall
Our January Soul Matters theme is Intention. “Intention is different from setting goals or resolutions in that it ‘pulls us into’ who we truly are. Goals and resolutions ‘push us out’ into future possibilities. To set intentions, we listen to our inner voice which tells us who we truly are.” (Katie Covey). Join our conversation. Bring a dish to share. Childcare will be provided.
Guest At Your Table Boxes Due
Sunday, Jan. 21
In November, we provided GAYT Boxes and envelopes to use in support of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee’s work for justice throughout the world. Guest at Your Table is UUSC’s annual intergenerational program to raise support for and awareness of our work to advance human rights. Since UUSC works in over 25 countries with over 75 grassroots partners, there are thousands of individuals involved in and benefiting from the work that our members make possible. Please return your box or envelope on January 21.
Teacher Luncheon and Check-In
Sunday, Jan. 21,12:30pm, Fellowship Hall
This mid-year check-in and appreciation for our Faith Development Teachers will take place immediately after Social Hour. Our teachers are doing a great job, and we want to pause and take the opportunity to let them know how much we appreciate all that they do for our children and youth. This will also be a time for our Teaching Teams to let us know how things are going and what they may need. We will be asking our parents and guardians to bring food for this event. We look forward to sharing this time with all of our teachers!
