On May 2, our membership was increased by three: Janice Brooks, Harriett Hilton, and Cheryl Snyder. Brief bios provided by Janice and Cheryl appear below. Harriett was in the middle of a move, and her bio will be in the July Beacon. Please make sure to meet and greet these delightful new members.
Janice Brooks: Moving to Hendersonville and becoming a member of UUFH have been two of the best decisions I have ever made. I am looking forward to meeting people in the Fellowship, learning more about UU, and serving, as well as taking advantage of the many programs that are offered.
I grew up in MS, taught school for 32 years, and raised my son and daughter there. After retirement, I moved to Marietta, GA, to be closer to my son, his wife, and their two children, but, as the grandchildren grew older, I found I was seeing less of them. As my daughter lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and their three girls, I decided to relocate to Hendersonville in late 2014, thereby putting me midway between my children. Since moving here, I have been enjoying volunteer work with Safelight and am a member of the Four Seasons Rotary Club.
Cheryl Snyder: I am a retired Medical Technologist. My husband Walt and I have lived full time In Hendersonville for three years, having relocated from Saratoga Springs, NY. I enjoy travel, the arts, concerts, theater, movies, skiing, reading, etc. I look forward to being part of the UUFH community.
