December 5 marked the completion of the 2018 Habitat for Humanity/Thrivent Financial Faith Build project at the Henderson County Habitat for Humanity Dodd Meadows community in East Flat Rock. This home differs from all others built by Habitat in that all of the construction normally done by regular Habitat volunteer crews is done by members of the 12 local churches who also supported this project financially.
At the dedication ceremony the new homeowners, the Rudisill family,
received the keys to their new home, marking the beginning, as new homeowners, of the newest phase in their lives.
UUFH again contributed significantly to the success of this project with support from the social justice fund and generous individual contributions from individual members and friends. Thanks go to the
following who contributed to the construction at various times during the year: Ed Law, Joan Shields, Sue Kuehn and Liam, Ron Partin, Bill and Susan White, Susan Holt, Joe Robustelli, Mays Swicord and Rich DeSimone.
Habitat presented representatives from each church with a certificate of appreciation. Homeowner Tia Rudisill is pictured holding our
certificate.”
