Amy and Colby Landers

Amy and Colby became Friends of UUFH a few years ago, and we have watched their family grow. We are now happy to welcome them among our newest members.

Amy Henderson Landers is a nature writer. She has been writing and teaching about plants and animals for 15 years. Amy grew up in Hendersonville, studied biology at Lenoir-Rhyne University, and lived in New Mexico (where she met Colby) for 12 years. Although she loves the Southwest, she is happy to be back at home in the mountains of WNC.

Colby Martin Landers is an artist and designer, and has been designing sets for stage and screen for 20 years. He grew up in West Texas, went to college at Texas Tech University, and lived in Albuquerque, NM for 15 years before moving to Hendersonville. Although he appreciates the green of the Appalachian Mountains, Colby longs for the sunny Southwest when it rains for a week straight!

Colby and Amy married in 2007 and have three young boys: Emerson (4-1⁄2), Oliver (2-1⁄2), and Parker (1). They moved to Hendersonville from New Mexico in 2014 to begin a new journey as organic farmers. To learn more about the Landers family, visit their website gardensthatmatter.com.
