Peace Garden
Our Fellowship now has a Peace Garden! On September 11 we officially dedicated this new space for peaceful reflection. Thank you to everyone who helped create our garden. This Green Sanctuary project has been a labor of love for all ages. Special thanks to Bonnie Arbuckle and Jan Partin for their guidance and help planning, planting, and making this idea become reality. Our youth came up with the plan, and together we all made it happen. Please come sit on the garden bench or rake the sand in the Zen Garden. This space is for all to enjoy.

Family Ministry Kick-Off
At the end of August, UUFH hosted an event at the Southern Appalachian Brewery to introduce our Family Ministry and Community Programming. Nearly 60 people attended the event and enjoyed the brewery’s brews, food from a local taco truck, the music of Todd Hoke and Paul Songy, and some fun activities. We got to know each other better, and talked about why we made the change in our program focus and how the program will be structured. We had a good time, and it was a great way to start our program year!

Soul Matters Potluck & Discussion
Friday, October 7, 6pm
One aspect of our Family Ministry and Community Program is to offer more opportunities for spiritual growth for parents/caregivers as well as children and youth. We are introducing a new Friday Night Potluck and Soul Matters Discussion. Come enjoy a potluck dinner with your family. After dinner the children will be entertained and the youth and adults are invited to join Jim for a conversation based on the Soul Matters October theme “Healing”. We will gather at 6:00pm for dinner; discussion will follow. As always, when we have a potluck we ask that you bring a dish to share and your own place settings. Please join us!
