Spring is coming… I can feel it and see it all around. The warm weather may confuse the trees that are budding and the daffodils that are blooming, hopefully not too badly. Of course, all the cold weather isn’t gone yet, but thankfully we are on the down side of winter. There is something about the coming of warmer weather that energizes me and inspires me to think about what we can accomplish in the coming months. I like to think about the possibilities and dream of ways to engage our families in the mission of our Fellowship. I would like to hear your ideas too! As a group, we can accomplish more than we may realize. We are definitely Better Together!

Pledge Campaign Kick-Off Dinner
Friday, Mar. 3, 6-8pm, Fellowship Hall
Our Pledge Drive comes every year in March. It is something we count on to make carrying on this congregation’s mission possible. On March 3, we are all invited to attend our Pledge Kick-Off Dinner hosted by the Pledge Team. The evening will include social time, a delicious dinner, some inspirational words, and fun for all ages! The fun starts at 5:00pm in Fellowship Hall. Join us! If you haven’t signed up already please contact Gwen Pernie  or MC Gaylord.

Family Soul Matters Potluck and Conversation
Friday, Mar.10, 6pm (Please note date)
The March Soul Matters theme is Risk. The important question about risk (and about life) is not “Are you willing to jump off?”, but “Are you willing to jump in?”. Not “Are you willing to put yourself in danger?”, but “Are you willing to give yourself to something bigger?”. Not “Will you be daring?”, but “Will you stay true?”. Join us at 6:00pm for a family potluck, and then a conversation with Rev. Jim on Risk. Childcare will be provided.

Youth Group/Conversation with Rev. Jim McKinley
Sunday, Mar. 19, 5:00-6:30pm, Fellowship Hall
Each month our youth have the opportunity to meet with Rev. Jim for some good food, good fun, and good conversation. Sometimes the conversation is centered on our Soul Matters theme for the month and sometimes it’s focused on things our youth care about or want to talk about. Always it’s an opportunity for them to be heard and to reflect on their thoughts and feelings.

Our Whole Lives (OWL)
By the time you read this, our OWL Sexuality Education Program will be underway. We have 13 youth participating, and the classes will run through May. Given the potential changes in our education system, it makes me even more grateful that we continue to offer this affirming and inclusive program. We appreciate the commitment of our facilitators, youth, and parents to this program that provides youth something they cannot get anywhere else.
