Family Soul Matters Potluck & Conversation
Friday, April 14, 6pm
What Does It Mean To Be A Community of Transformation? When it comes to transformation, the message of spirituality is “Be careful with what you’ve been taught and told because much of it takes us in exactly the wrong direction.” Our challenge as a community of transformation is to remind each other to take a different tack. More often than not, it’s about breathing rather than becoming better; patience not perfection; depth not dominance; attention not improvement. Join us at 6pm for a family friendly potluck followed by conversation on Transformation. As always childcare will be provided. And a reminder…we are a Green Sanctuary so please bring your own place settings!
Easter Breakfast
Sunday April 16th, 9am
Fellowship Hall
UUFH has a tradition of beginning Easter morning with a delicious Easter Breakfast provided by the families of our congregation. We will begin serving at 9am in Fellowship Hall. Our Easter Breakfast Coordinator will be contacting our families to provide the food for the event. So please respond when you get that email! We will set up for the breakfast on Saturday April 15th at 2pm in Fellowship Hall, so please come help if you can. This annual event is a fundraiser for the FM Activities Fund (formerly known as the RE Activities Fund) and we hope to see everyone there!
Flower Ceremony
Sunday, April 16, 10:30am, Sanctuary
Following Easter breakfast, we will continue to celebrate Easter by honoring our Unitarian heritage with a Flower Ceremony in the worship service. Please bring a flower with you on Easter Sunday to add to our congregational bouquet. This is also the perfect morning to don your Easter Bonnet to add to this colorful day!
Youth Group/Conversation with Rev. Jim McKinley
Sunday, April 23, 5:00pm – 6:30pm, Fellowship Hall
All youth, please join us for food, fun and fellowship! Our monthly theme for April is Transformation. We invite you to do the following exercise that encourages you to experience a “single glorious thing” from your own surroundings. Below are your instructions:
1. Take some time to identify one special thing that catches your eye that you see every day.
2. For at least five days in a row, use your phone to take a picture of that glorious thing.
3. Before the Youth Group meets, make time to look at the collection of photos. Pay attention to the differences and the similarities and make some notes.
4. Come to youth group ready to share what you discovered.
