Bring your favorite ethical dish and join us! The foods we choose to buy and eat affect not only our health but the health of our planet, the health of those that work to make our food available, and the health of animals.
When we see how much our choices impact all of these, we begin to recognize that there are moral consequences for how we eat.
Some believe it is ethical to eat only plants, while others believe it is ethical to eat both plants and animals. Ethical eating does not call for a single dietary approach.
A panel of some of our favorite people, Paul and Simone Shoemaker, Bill Mahler and Kate Potter, will be discussing their experiences with responsible, ethical farming.
Paul and Simone will talk about growing and buying local vegetables and where to purchase them around here. They will be bringing some of their locally grown produce from their Mills River Farm for the Supper.
Kate and Bill will enlighten us with the challenges and rewards of growing and selling quality heritage beef from their farm in Virginia.
We look forward to seeing you for a fun evening of food and conversation!
