Not everyone knows that UUFH offers a special service known as the “UU Drivers” to IAM clients who need help getting home with their supplies of food and clothing. We’ve been doing this for about 18 years, averaging more than 20 drives per month. Perhaps you would like to join this special crew who make direct, personal contributions to people in need throughout Henderson County.

Four UU members have become drivers since New Year’s: Many thanks to Rhoda Apfelbeck, Catherine Elder, Becky Elston, and Bernie Fox. But several other drivers have retired or suffered health problems in the past few weeks. Therefore we urgently need more drivers for our call list. Could this occasional volunteer job fit into your life? There is no set schedule, but most of us “UU Drivers” provide about two rides per month.
