The work of the Committee on Ministries has included discussions about how people use the spaces we have created as part of the mission and vision of the congregation. When the sanctuary was remodeled, for example, we created small niches along the back wall to be used for arrangements that can be part of meditation. The congregation made the decision that these niches, which belong to the Fellowship as a whole, would not be used simply for decorations. We are fortunate to have a group called the Flower Pulpit Team, which uses the principles of Ikebana to create beautiful arrangements that we can all enjoy. These discussions about how the uses of common spaces reflect our vision and mission involve all of our facilities. The volunteers who help take care of common spaces work with Buildings and Grounds, Landscaping, or the Flower Pulpit Team. We want to thank everyone who participates in these concrete ways of demonstrating our common vision. They truly bring the concept of Love Welcomes All to life.
