Our next Outreach Collection, on May 21st, will be to help reduce Youth Hunger by benefiting those community programs that help ensure our children and youth have the sustenance they need to grow, learn, play, and lead healthy, productive lives. Thirty percent of the funds will support Feed the Kids, which provides a hot meal every Friday evening to the children and youth at the Boys and Girls Club, sending them into their weekends fortified and nourished. Over 30 members of our church community volunteer regularly to “feed the kids.” The remaining 70% of the collection will support the Backpack Program, which sends home backpacks of food with children who qualify for free and reduced lunch, helping ensure that they have food to sustain them over the weekend. A team of UUFH members fills backpacks for the children of Upward Elementary. Please be generous in supporting the children and youth of our community.
