AmiciMusic, the award-winning chamber music organization based in Asheville, will bring its exciting brand of classical music to the “Bach to Bluegrass Series” on Saturday, June 28 at 7PM to our fellowship.

This concert is called “THE FOLK INFLUENCE” and features cellist Franklin Keel and pianist Daniel Weiser performing great works from around the world with a folk music influence by Grieg (Norway), Dvorak (Slovakia), de Falla (Spain), Bartok (Romania), and Piazzolla (Argentina).

Mr. Keel is the Associate Principal Cello of the Asheville Symphony Orchestra, a member of the Opal String Quartet, and the Strings Teacher at Hendersonville High and Middle Schools.  Keel is an Asheville native who attended the Eastman School of Rochester.

Weiser has performed chamber music in great concert halls around the world, from Carnegie Hall to the Cairo Opera House.  He was the 1996 U.S Artistic Ambassador of Music, for which he was sent on a two-month, eleven country tour of the Middle East and Southeast Asia.  He has his Doctorate from the Peabody Conservatory and has previously taught music at Dartmouth College and the St. Paul’s School.  He also spent a year at Harvard Law School at the same time as President Obama.

AmiciMusic (www.amicimusic.org), meaning “music among friends,” was founded in 2011 by pianist and Artistic Director Daniel Weiser, with the mission of bringing the highest quality chamber music into intimate spaces and non-traditional venues.  Dr. Weiser is dedicated to breaking down barriers between performers and audience through brief discussions of each composer and by creating a more relaxed and informal atmosphere to highlight the spirit of community and camaraderie on every program.
