The theme for January is possibility.

Possibility is central to our religious understandings. We summarize Unitarianism as an exalted view of human possibility with religious exemplars for what it means to live well.

So why is it so often difficult to take action, change direction, say “why not?” and go for it? “There is comfort in convincing ourselves that the work is hopeless; that way we don’t have to try and risk failure, hurt or disappointment yet again.”

Mr. Rogers said: “people are not failures when they are doing the best that they can.”

Maybe, but it’s the better I can that gets me moving into the possibilities I’m hoping for.
