In an increasingly polarized world, it has become difficult to share differences of opinion without alienating those who may disagree. It has also become harder and harder to hear differences of opinion without feeling anger or alienation. How can we choose to create harmony, allow space for conversation, and find common ground?
Modern-folk duo Friction Farm is a husband-and-wife team of traveling troubadours. Aidan Quinn and Christine Stay combine storytelling, social commentary, and humor to create songs of everyday life, local heroes, and quirky observations. This year the duo launched a project using music to promote childhood literacy, and also helped lead a climate justice conference with music as a tool for spreading information, building energy, and enhancing self-care.

A special thank you to Christine and Aidan for giving us permission to include two of their songs in this recording!
