It’s time to plan our annual July day trip to beautiful Cashiers and the ‘Mother of all Thrift Stores,’ Victoria’s Closet!
To call this a thrift store is to call a gourmet restaurant fast food! It is three buildings of fabulous consignment women’s clothes, handbags, and shoes; well worth the 1-1/2 hour drive! We meet at 9am in the Laurel Park Village Ingles parking lot to form carpools of four to a car. Then it’s off on Rt. 64W through Brevard and over the winding, very scenic road to Cashiers. We shop until we are done (around 12:30), then head back on Rt. 64, stopping at a very nice restaurant just a few miles away. There we will enjoy a delicious lunch while solving the World’s problems, as only UUs can do, and visit among old friends and new.
We welcome newcomers! The day will be chosen soon: Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of the second week in July. Plan for 9am to about 3:30pm when we return to Ingles’ lot. It is a very full and fun day. Please watch your E-Blasts and Order of Service inserts for the exact date, which will be set by end of May. Questions or to sign up call Chief Thrift Store Junkie Barbara Eck. We need both drivers and riders, the more the merrier!
