SJOT (Social Justice Outreach Team) has been a vital part of UUFH for nine years, and that’s how long Carole Repici has chaired the committee. (Charlotte Corrigan has been her co-chair for the past two years.) The accomplishments of SJOT have touched our congregation, Hendersonville, and the world in many ways.

Carole spearheaded the committee that developed and implemented the Dream Scholarship, and she has served on it for several years. She also has been deeply involved with Feed the Kids from its inception, serving on the board and being in charge of our team’s meals for many years.

Carole is most proud of organizing the UUFH trip to New Orleans to help with restoration after Katrina. Most recently, she has encouraged our congregational involvement at Moral Mondays, Moms Against Gun Violence events, and postcard parties that inform our representatives in government about our feelings regarding legislative decisions. Both on the world stage and in the personal lives of others, Carole has helped many thrive in our world, has worked to initiate change for good, and has come to the aid of those who need our help.

Our church home, our sanctuary, where we are sustained, protected, grow, learn, and seek fellowship, is preserved and enhanced by Tom Repici. He has served on the Facilities Committee for about eight years, and makes minor repairs, interfaces with electricians and plumbers, and manages HVAC contractors. Our snow is removed, our parking lot is maintained, and our rooms are clean thanks to this committee and Tom.

If you are looking for a way to become more involved with UUFH, consider helping in these arenas. Our positive, ongoing impact on our world and on others can be made by our involvement in various areas of this UU congregation’s work.
