Katherine Price, our Music Director, joins piano technician Gary Griswold as he begins to disassemble the lower bass strings on our Kawai grand piano to replace them with new ones. After the strings are removed, they are sent to a company that measures them, makes new strings, and sends them to us.
Gary then installs new tuning pins, the new strings, and begins the process of finding the in-tune home base for each one. This all takes several weeks before the process is complete.
