Singing in English and Spanish, children, youth, and adults reminded us that when all is said and done, love is what matters most. The Youth Choir sang Malvina Reynolds’ “Magic Penny.” Konrad Sanders, who was much smaller when he first came to the Fellowship, said going to church, being a part of the congregation, taught him that he was part of a beloved community. Then the choir, singing in English and Spanish, brought us the message that love never does end. Malvina Reynolds was a UU composer from California, and utilized the idea that love grows as you give it away so it’s clear to everyone. Paul Page’s “Dónde Hay,” using a text from Mexico, and Allan Parker’s “Love Never Ends,” brought the same idea home to us all, singing, accompanying, or listening. News from Albuquerque, NM, that long-time member Don Goodman had died this week, brought Don and his wife Suzy into our midst from far away. Our beloved community is larger than those in attendance at the February 12th service. As we continued our financial support for DREAM scholarships, we were wrapped in love. May it always be so.
