If you see Becky Reid carrying stones and water around on Sunday before the service, it’s because she is a member of the Worship Team, which she joined soon after retiring and moving from New York State in 2010. The team assists Jim when he requests help and finds speakers when Jim is away, which includes two summer months. They meet four times a year to plan future services, evaluate speakers, and organize and run the services in Jim’s absences.

Becky’s other “big job” is the organization of the Neighborhood Groups. Every member and friend is a member of one of the six groups, organized geographically. (Ask to see her map!)  She recently reorganized the groups and added 27 new members and friends. Neighborhood Groups put on two events a year:  Soup Sunday in February and bag lunch in May. They also provide various food items for Conversations with the Minister and other informal gatherings, as well as helping with set-up and clean-up.

Becky and her husband Joe, as “adjunct” members of the membership committee, meet with new friends and members to answer any questions, get to know them, and explain the importance of supporting the Fellowship both financially and by becoming involved in activities in which they are interested.

Becky says, “This Fellowship has become my spiritual home where I know I can be myself and explore my own spiritual journey with the support of loving, caring friends.”
