Spring is here and it’s time to get our gardens going again. Last year as part of our Green Sanctuary initiative, we embarked on a program to bring together members who have suitable unused garden space and those who would like to garden, but have no space of their own.
The idea is to promote home gardening to produce healthy food for ourselves and perhaps a bit extra to share with the Fellowship or donate to food pantries.
If you would like to be a part of this program, please contact Rich DeSimone who will answer questions and connect you with a donor/gardener partner. The only rules are that gardens are to be herbicide and pesticide free. Commercial fertilizers are an option to be agreed upon by the gardener and host.
(Ideally natural nutrient sources can be found.) The obligation of the host extends only to providing a source of water. The gardener is obliged to respect the property and concerns of the host; a nice gesture might be to offer to share in the harvest.
Let’s have a good turnout for this win-win program!
