This Sunday, November 2 we will kick off our Healthy Donations Food Drive (to benefit Interfaith Assistance Ministry) during the first part of the worship service.
We will do a collection during the service that is similar to Stone Soup where we ask our families to bring an item from one of the four categories of food that we will be asking the congregation to donate in the coming months.
The four food categories are: Grains, Proteins, Fruit & Vegetables, and Herbs & Spices.
An email has been sent to our families in the grains category for our kick-off. We are asking that as many families as possible please bring one item in this category for each member of their family.
The Shopping List for Grains is:
- Brown or Wild Rice
- Quinoa or Couscous
- Wheat Berries, Amaranth or Teff
- Steel Cut or Rolled Oats
- Whole Grain Breads (with either Oats, Whole Wheat or Brown Rice as first ingredient and/or with at least 5 grams of fiber per serving)
We hope to see you all on Sunday to make our Kick-Off great!
