For all our commitment to critical thinking, Unitarian Universalists are vulnerable to utopian thinking – if only we do this, if only we espouse that, the world will be healed and our children’s children will be saved. Some say the purpose of utopian thinking is to keep us from plunging into despair. This morning’s sermon argues that there has to be – there IS – a better way.
Rev. Dr. Maureen Killoran is an accredited interim minister who has served congregations in Oregon, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland, and Missouri, and currently serves in San Antonio, Texas. She holds Masters degrees in sociology and theology and a Doctor of Ministry in church organizational systems. Maureen and her husband, Peter Hyatt, share ten grandchildren and currently are pondering what they will do when Maureen retires in the yet-to-be-determined future.
