Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life and brings with it a strong appreciation for what is all around us. Here, we have much to appreciate and be grateful for. Unitarian Universalism is rich with examples of what it means to live life well, to stand for justice, to speak for those without voice, to serve one another. We proudly inherit the strengths of those who came before us. Here, we covenant with one another to live those strengths.
Stewardship is a covenant, not just a promise, but an act of worship to create community within our walls and beyond to the wider community. We are grateful for the strength of the stewardship you bring to us. Your gifts and talents prepare the world for a better tomorrow.
Annual Commitment
The mission of UUFH and its numerous supportive activities are only possible through the generosity of its supporters. Our annual canvass is about more than just paying the bills; it is our commitment to the future. We live our values by how we allocate our personal resources – most vividly by how we share our time and our money. About 80% of our support is provided through annual pledges. Many members and friends chose to do this through monthly direct deposits form their bank accounts.
UUFH Endowment Fund
Leaving a Legacy for Generations to Come
Handicap access ramps, computer technology, sanctuary blinds… all funded this year by thoughtful and generous donations to the UUFH Endowment Fund. Through memorial, honorary, and direct contributions, along with bequests to the Endowment, donors help enhance the life of the Fellowship and secure its long-term financial health and stability. The principal amount of all gifts is held permanently in the Endowment Fund, with only the investment earnings available for spending.
Each donation helps the Endowment grow and generate more earnings that are used to fund the many things that make our Fellowship better. In this way, each donor, or person recognized by a donation, truly does live on forever within the Fund. Many choose to make memorial contributions to UUFH to honor special persons. Make a Difference in the Lives that Follow: Support the UUFH Endowment Fund.
Fundraising Activities
While annual pledges and Sunday offerings cover abut 80% of our budget, we usually sponsor a few special fundraising events. These include high-caliber concerts, fun auctions, crafts fairs, and others. Most are “funraising” as well.
Ingles Gift Cards
Help support UUFH bey purchasing Ingles Gift Cards after the service in Fellowship Hall. You pay face value, we buy them at a 5% discount. Last year this project netted close to $3,500 for our congregation. Remember, Ingles has that great discount on gas right now and it’s so easy to earn points when you buy your groceries at Ingles and then use those points for a discount on your gasoline.

Outreach Sundays
Each year proposals for planned Outreach Collections (generally not more than 4) are submitted by SJOT to the Board for approval. Once approved, the Outreach Collections are scheduled with the UUFH ministers and placed on the master event calendar.
Ten percent of each Outreach Collection is designated for the SJOT Holdback Fund. At Board request, Team members drafted and submitted a formal policy for these donations. The Holdback Fund Policy was approved April 2017 by the UUFH Board. Proposals are drafted and copied to the Board and submitted as SJOT agenda/meeting motions for approval by attending SJOT members.
